THERE is still huge interest in commercial land in Wollongong, according to Raine and Horne Commercial Wollongong director Harry Kersten.

Harry made the comment after announcing a prime seaside commercial property had gone on the international market.

But he said the prime site being auctioned under tender on the corner of Bourke St and Cliff Rd was not the only property attracting interest.

He said there was also enormous interest in industrial land, particularly for sites around Port Kembla following the arrival of car shipments in and out of the port.

And much of the interest is coming from Sydney.

"We just cannot get the land," he said. "It is unbelievable. Records are being written every day."
